CMLIT 191N Final Project (The Simulation)

Developed by Group 8 (Anand, Zach, Xavier, John) in the Fall 2021 semester of CMLIT 191N at Penn State, this game is the final project of the class. Take control of your character and embark on an adventure to save the world by collecting artifacts across the area. Overcome challenges to get each artifact and in the process, learn a little bit more about how video games relate to everyday issues. Maybe even find all the Easter eggs in the game!

Walkthrough (Achievements only):

• Moldenhauer?
  • Complete the game with the standard ending by giving at least 4 artifacts to Dr. Kahl. For the Easter egg reference, see Dr. Kahl's Robot from Cuphead, developed by Moldenhauer Studios.
• Break the Simulation
  • Complete the game with the special ending by giving all 5 artifacts to the Instructor.
• Rick Rolled
  • Take the long walk in Wellink village's second hub room to the sign Rick Astley left.
• Star Student
  • Unlock the Instructor NPC in the second Wellink hub room by collecting all 4 base artifacts and the bonus 5th artifact.
• Sherlock Holmes
  • Discover a snippet of Dr. Kahl's true intentions by entering his lab's side door.

Unlocking the Bonus 5th Artifact:

• CoD Champs Trophy - Found in the leftmost tree under the top left house in the Addiction World (Cat Room) (walk around the tree to trigger)
• FaZe Clan Jersey - Given to you by person getting divorced/remarried in the Health World (top right NPC)
• Mortal Kombat 11 - Interact with the computer in M and K's bedroom in the Sexuality World to eject the disc (trigger)
• Smash Ball Replica - Found in the house next to heartbroken NPC in the Love World
